Semester 1 is Over

After an incredibly busy 4 months I am now home for Christmas and my first semester in Madrid is over. There are so many places I’ve been and so many places I wish I had been too so I am going to give you a list of where to go, things to see and places to eat and drink so if ever in Madrid you can make the most of the city.

First of all, the thing I regret most is not travelling as much in my first semester. As mentioned in my previous blog posts I’ve been to Toledo, Segovia and Berlin. However, there are so many little day trips near Madrid that we can either get to on our Albono Travel Card or are very cheap on the train. The main reason we didn’t do as much as we originally planned was due to the plans everyone had already made with their family and friends. However, I guess this is normal as its a very new experience living so far from home. After the first month there was rarely any time where we have been all together. Due to this being my main regret we have planned approximately 5 dates which we are going to book trips throughout our next semester. We have already got 2 day trips booked for January which are to Salamanca and Aranjuez so my next blog posts will be about our trips there!

I have made a diagram of all the places close to Madrid some which I have and some that I want to visit before I finish my third semester in July:

One of the things which I have enjoyed the most since being in Madrid, other than the travelling, is experiencing a new city for its cuisine. One of my favourite things to do is to go out a try new food and I do this on all my travels. Due to this I have also created a diagram of all my favourite restaurants and bars which I have found whilst being in Madrid for the past 3 months.

Finally, I have done so much over the last three months. Starting with the typical sight seeing as well as finding hidden gems throughout the city. I'm hoping that this whole blog post will help anyone who is planning on visiting Madrid as each image shows my experience so far and will (hopefully) help everyone with their decisions of what to do, where to eat and where else to visit when coming to Madrid as information like this would of really helped me before I arrived.
